POSITION DESCRIPTION : Works collaboratively with the Critical Care Leadership team and staff to coordinate a variety of performance improvement, quality and evidence-based practice projects in Adult Critical Care Areas. The CCPI nurse will function in a collaborative manner with nursing staff, medical staff, information systems personnel, quality management/performance improvement personnel and administration. The CCPI nurse will access data and maintain data integrity to facilitate an accurate reflection of clinical patient outcomes. The CCPI nurse will analyze data and provide education for continuous quality improvement that will influence care for all disciplines.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED :
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing, BSN or MSN preferred
- Licensed in Maine as registered nurse
- Three or more years’ experience in adult critical care nursing
- Ability to interact with all members of the Adult Critical Care Units in a professional and courteous manner
- Proficient in Cerner applications, basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and understanding of IS confidentiality/security issues
- The ability to analyze problems, abstract data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions,
- Understand and interpret clinical definitions and quality/performance improvement concepts.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present to mixed audiences.
- Ability to read and interpret directives and to communicate performance measures and make recommendations for improvement based on the evidence.
