Senior Ethics & Compliance Specialist

Location: Augusta Maine

Must be willing to work in the state of Maine.

Minimum 3 years experience preferred

The Senior Ethics and Compliance! Specialist serves as a resource to the Ethics and Compliance Department and the Corporate Ethics and Compliance Officer by providing a wide range of functions to assure that the MaineGeneral Health system is both compliant with laws, regulations and policies and maintains a respectful and appropriate work environment.

Qualifications/Competencies :
3 years or more in healthcare compliance, health information, coding, health-care billing, reimbursement monitoring and/or reviewing medical records for compliance with regulations is preferred.
If the position is filled by a Registered Nurse, must have either a current State of Maine Registered Nurse (RN) license or an RN license recognized by the Nurse Licensure Compact ( https://www.ncsbn.org/nlc.htm ). If RN licensure is from a compact state, must obtain a state of Maine RN license within 90 days of changing primary residency to MaineI f
If the position is filled by a LPN, current State of Maine Li! censed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required.

Bachel! or’s degree in Healthcare Compliance, Auditing, Health Information, Healthcare, Accounting, Finance, Nursing or related field required . Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets and databases strongly preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills. Knowledge and understanding of CPT coding strongly preferred. Knowledge and understanding of ICD-9 coding strongly preferred .

Knowledge of Internal/Compliance Auditing Techniques strongly preferred .

Knowledge of revenue cycle processes preferred.

Knowledge & understanding of UB92/HCFA 1500 billing requirements strongly preferred .

Detail oriented, problem solving skills.

Excellent written & verbal communication skills.

Self-motivated with significant initiative to efficiently produce high quality work strongly preferred.

Supervisory and/or management experience in Healthcare preferred.

Registered Health Information Technology (RHIT) Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC)
