The Education Specialist - Associate will be responsible for planning, designing, delivering and supporting the implementation and ongoing u! tilization of automated clinical applications within the electronic medical record. The Education Specialist - Associate will work closely with the Clinical Application Analysts, Chief Medical Information Officer and Director of IS in providing the educational opportunities required to support the applications that will automate clinical processes.
- Demonstrates an understanding of EMH Information Systems applications
- Works in conjunction with the EMHS Education Manager and the Clinical Application Analysts in reviewing process and developing and designing curriculum and educational strategy for implementing clinical applications, including, but not limited to:
o Clinical Documentation
o FirstNet
o iNet
o Charges (Batch Charge Entry)
o CPOE (Computerized Physician Order Entry)
o PowerChart for Providers and support staff
- Facilitates/teaches multiple clinical software application! s education classes for EMHS
- Participates in workgrou! ps defining the integration of the clinical applications into the clinical workflow
- Participates in reviewing clinical processes to assist in design of new documentation and/or applications.
- Develops competency-based educational activities, using adult learning principles
- Maintains database of completed competencies
- Assists in the development of policies and procedures that are required to implement and maintain the clinical applications
- Participates in system testing and validation
- Coordinates and organizes learning sessions
- Display a willingness to make decisions; exhibit sound and accurate judgment; includes appropriate people in decision making process
- Demonstrates effective time management skills; reports to work on time and as scheduled, unless prior authorization has been given or effort has been made to communicate unscheduled or emergency absences
- Develops workable implementation plans! with regard to change management; communicates changes effectively; builds commitment and overcomes barriers

Bachelor of Science Degree in a healthcare related field with a minimum of 3 years clinical/educational experience preferred
Registered Nurse preferred
Experience with information systems preferred
Must be able to interact effectively with clinicians, peers, management and vendors in a manner that represents EMHS positively
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with experience of working under pressure and in a changing envi! ronment
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications !
Able to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents
Able to respond to the most sensitive inquiries and complaints
Able to write reports, curriculum, and training materials such as manuals or computer-based modules
Able to deliver effective presentations
Writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs
Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills

Must be able to facilitate in a classroom environment for long periods of time
Must have access to transportation and be able to travel throughout EMHS
Able to work in a busy office environment, seated at a desk or in meetings, or standing in a classroom for extended periods of time. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
