The Manager reports directly to the Controller and manages all activities for SMHC and its subsidiaries related to third party cost reporting, annual operating and capital budgets, and de! cision support systems used in evaluating organizational performance and regulatory compliance. The position also supports and collaborates with the CFO, Controller, and Senior Managers to recommend and develop system process improvements in response to regulatory changes. Directly responsible for positions of Senior Financial Analyst and Financial Analysts. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other appropriately quantitative based technical undergraduate degree is required.
Masters degree in Business Administration or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred. A minimum of three years experience in a healthcare related environment with "hands on" experience in the preparation of Medicare and Medicaid third-party cost reports. Training and/or applied knowledge in the area of third-party cost reporting, operational budgeting, and variance analysis. Familiarity with the laws/regulations set forth by CMS and the State of Maine in regulating the economic/financia! l activities of Maine Hospitals and Nursing facilities.
