THIS IS AN EXPEDITED HIRING AUTHORITY ANNOUNCEMENT! . The Duncan Hunter National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) ! FY 2009 provides that the Secretary of Defense can designate acquisition positions as shortage positions and recruit and appoint highly qualified persons to these positions. This position is located at the Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion and Repair (SUPSHIP) in Bath, ME. The administrative and technical supervisor of this position is the Quality Assurance team Manager (QM) of the Electrical group (370) located within the Quality Assurance Directorate (300). As a Quality Assurance Specialist (ELECTRICAL) y ou will be responsible for performing quality assurance audits and assessments on shipboard electrical systems and associated components (e.g. power distribution and generation systems, bonding and grounding methods, machinery control systems and cable routing and! cableway configurations, general announcing systems, surveillance and alarm systems, electrical heating and lighting systems, degaussing and cathodic protection systems and electrical safety).
Salary Range:
GS-09: $47,448 - $61,678
GS-11: $57,408 - $74,628

Position may require travel within and outside the commuting area of CONUS and ships underway. RELOCATION AUTHORIZED

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR GS-1910-09, QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (ELECTRICAL): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay plan in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector conducting electrical quality assurance studies or assessments in a shipbuilding or ship repair environment. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the positi! on.
Examples of qualifying experience include:

Successful completion of a masterÂ's or equivalent graduate degree, which includes or is supplemented by major study major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical science, textiles, or other fields related to the position.
Successful completion of two years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a masterÂ's degree, which includes major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engin! eering, engineering technology, physical science, textiles, or other fields related to the position.
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR GS-1910-11, QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (ELECTRICAL): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay plan in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector evaluating electrical quality assurance studies or assessments in a shipbuilding or ship repair environment. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Examples of qualifying experience include:
