Minimum 1 year experience preferred
The Mental Health Registered Nurse has accountability and responsibility for clinical decision making and coordination of a patients’ care during an assigned shift or throughout the length of stay on a unit. She/he provides nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Maine State Board of Nursing. In addition abides by the principles of Relationship Based Care and the Clinical Practic! e Model Framework in order to achieve Patient- and Family-Cent! ered Care as defined by MaineGeneral Medical Center (MGMC). May be required to work on other nursing units to include cross-campus per floating policy.
Qualifications/Competencies :
Must have either a current State of Maine Registered Nurse (RN) license or an RN license recognized by the Nurse Licensure Compact ( https://www.ncsbn.org/nlc.htm ). If RN licensure is from a compact state, must obtain a state of Maine RN license within 90 days of changing primary residency to Maine.
Associates degree in Nursing; Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
BLS certification is required within 3 months of hire.
Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification is required within 6 months of hire.
One year of RN experience is preferred.
