As a key member of the health care team, this professional coordinates and delivers health services to residents and patients on the Mere Point Long Term Care unit and Bodwell Rehabilitation unit at the Senior Health Center. Services include conducting examinations, performing assessments, diagnosing illnesses, making patient referrals, providing health educati! on, determining treatment needed, ordering tests and examinations, and prescribing medication to provide for the health, safety and treatment of patients. Treat all persons, staff and clients/patients with dignity and respect, and maintains cooperative working relationships. Requires outstanding interpersonal skills.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB:
Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in Maine, and have two years of NP experience, preferably in a psychiatric setting. National Certification required for Nurse Practitioner.
