Job Summary:
The Nurse Manager of Surgical Services for the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Departments is accountable for the day to day operations and assists with strategic planning of the surgical programs at State Street. With the Director of Surgical Services, Surgical Services Steering Committee and the Department of Anesthesia the incumbent develops and implements policies and processes for surgical services. The Manager is recognized as a key manager and leader within the hospital organization. The Manager provides clinical supervision to patient care staff of the operating room and SPD departments at Mercy Hospital. The Manager facilitates the advancement of nursing practice and assumes twenty-four hour responsibility for the management of the surgery program. The incumbent performs all duties and tasks in accordance with performance standards established for the job. The incumbent is responsible for participation in and completion of all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position. In addition, the incumbent conducts all job responsibilities according to the Mission and Values of Mercy Hospital.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree preferred Minimum of 3 years experience in the operating room required. Experience in Operating Room required. Managerial or related experience required in an acute setting. *** Should a vendor candidate be hired the fee paid will 15% of the candidate's first year's base salary***
