JOB SUMMARY: Through EMMC Northeast Cardiology Research, cutting edge cardiac medical and device ! therapies are available to the people of our region. The EMMC Northeast Cardiology Research team is dedicated to providing patients with expert services to ensure that all research activity is ethical, safe and patient-focused. At Eastern Maine Medical Center and Northeast Cardiology, the Clinical Research Nurse will have the opportunity to collaborate with investigators, IRB’s, and the medical community in order to implement, execute, and maintain clinical studies based upon specific protocols.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED : BSN, Maine RN license or eligible to obtain.
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Certification as a clinical research coordinator/professional preferred
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED : 10 years cardiac clinical nursing experience
PREFERED EXPERIENCE : 5 years CCU and/or Cath Lab experience, previous experience in clinical research, prior experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel
OTHER SKILLS ! REQUIRED : Must be a strong patient advocate and have exce! ptional organizational skills. Must possess excellent oral and written skills with the ability to work under pressure with precision and accuracy. Detail-oriented with the ability to work on multiple projects. Ability to function independently.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Visual acuity; above average manual dexterity; keyboard data entry; viewing computer monitor; bending; lifting; pulling; reaching; able to communicate verbally and have auditory function to communicate by telephone; able to sit for >90% of the workday. Ability to travel via land and air, as necessary.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT : Northeast Cardiology Office based with frequent assignment to screening and enrolling at EMMC. Some independent travel within the U.S. required.
