We are seeking a qualifed candidate for an ON-CALL Education Tech III opportunity in our Renaissance School prog! ram. The selected employee will function in the role as a School-Based Behavioral Health professional.
The Renaissance School has 5 classroom teams serving students in grades K-8, with up to 10 students per classroom. Each classroom is staffed by a teacher, an education technicians and supported by a Lead Behavioral Services Technician. The classrooms are further supported by an extended network of Social Workers, a Recreation Therapist, Nurses and a Program Director. The Renaissance operates year round, with an extended school year program during the summer, and follows the Auburn School Department calendar during the regular school year. The Education Technician f unctions as a member of the education/clinical team within the classroom, working with children with behavioral difficulties. The successful candidate will demonstrate great flexibility and adaptibility in working with children with challenging behaviors. Love for teaching is critical, as they will be functi! oning in a teaching capacity through much of the school day. Qualifications: 90 hours of college credits required for Maine Department of Education Certification. Must be eligible for and meet the credentialing requirements for a Behavioral Health Professional (BHP). The employee must begin receiving the Behavioral Health Professional training within thirty (30) days from the date of hire. The provisional candidate must complete the training and obtain certification within one (1) year from the date of hire. Fingerprints must be on file with the Department of Education.
