Provides direct psychiatric nursing services and other psychiatric nursing services in coordination with physicians and/or other practitioners within scope of training and licensure as a Maine-licensed and c! redentialed psychiatric/child psychiatric RNC. ACT and Outpatient Programs. Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in a Nursing degree or equivalent, with additional qualifications of certification in either psychiatry or child psychiatry.
The incumbent must be able to obtain RN-C certification within 90 days of hire or have at time of hire and maintain an active Maine RN license and psychiatric or child psychiatric certification.
The incumbent must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license. General Requirements
Maintain professional knowledge, skills, and all necessary licenses and credentials required to provide psychiatric/child psychiatric RNC services.
Participate effectively as a member of the team of professionals and support staff providing medication management services.
Demonstrate productivity as an individual direct provider of psychiatric/child psychiatric RNC services, including a focus on on-going nursing assess! ment; client education including education about medications; ! medication side-effects; and strategies for improving medication compliance and diminishing adverse effects.
Demonstrate prompt, reliable completion of necessary documentation including assessments, progress notes, etc. Provide assistance as needed in seeing that records for clients served in medication management are complete, accurate, and in compliance with standards of accreditation, licensure, and good clinical practice.
Facilitate meeting the needs of clients through polite and professional response to phone calls.
Facilitate appropriate administration of medication in the outpatient setting when asked to do so, including administration of depot neuroleptic injections, etc.
Assist as directed in monitoring the inventory of (sample) prescription medications stored in Sweetser's outpatient settings. Benefits
