Director of Undergraduate Nursing Program

Location: Bangor Maine

Description: Husson University is presently looking of Director of Undergraduate Nursing Program right now, this vacancy will be placed in Maine. The Director is responsible for guiding and advancing the BSN Program in curriculum development, administration, and evaluation. The Director will work with the Dean, Director of the Graduate Program, and School of Nursing Faculty to ensure continued accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Responsibilities also include limited teaching in areas of expertise, scholarship, academic advising, community involvement and service. The director leads the recruitment, support, and mentoring of Unde! rgraduate Program faculty and staff.

RESPONSIBILIT! IES/DUTIES:
ADMINISTRATIVE:
The Director will participate in College governance, contribute to the general education program, effectively manage and promote the development of personnel and fiscal resources, and work with College administration to lead the program in its development. The Director will also facilitate and participate in Departmental meetings, retreats, committees, and activities.

TEACHING:
The Director will assume primary responsibility for up to a .5 faculty workload within the curriculum each semester.

SCHOLARSHIP AND PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY:
The Director is expected to maintain currency within his/her professional area of expertise and to participate in scholarly activities as defined by the Faculty Handbook. Up to one day/week may be negotiated for professional consultation or clinical practice. The Director is responsible for developing and executing a scholarship plan that contributes to the scie! ntific or professional body of knowledge relevant to his/her area of expertise.

SERVICE:
The Director demonstrates a record of service to the Program, University, community and the profession. He or she participates in College governance and Faculty Forum or Institutional committees

STUDENT ADVISING:
The Director is responsible for leading recruitment, admission, and retention strategies, as well as counseling potential applicants and those students who are in academic jeopardy. The Director will maintain student office hours and advise BSN students each year following the policies and procedures documented in the Husson Faculty Advising Manual.

Education: Master of Science in Nursing and post-professional academic doctoral degree in in nursing or related field required.

Maine license eligibility as a registered nurse

Experience: Minimum of five years of college/university-level teaching experi! ence. Program administrative experience; familiarity with program evalu! ation and leading accreditation processes

Special Skills: Skills in communication, interpersonal relations, and personnel management. Ability to work collaboratively with University and community constituencies. Long-range planning skills and a visionary perspective of nursing education. Evidence of effective practice, teaching, and scholarship. Competence in organizational skills and financial management
