UMA is the third largest public university in Maine. UMA is seeking applicants for Lecturer of Nursing positions in the College of Professional Studies. These nine-month, fixed-length positions are available September, 2018 through May, 2019 with the possibility of renewal for subsequent academic years.

The Lecturer of Nursing is responsible for teaching nursing students in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical setting, as assigned. Additional responsibilities include engaging in curriculum develop ment and attending and participating in program and university-wide committees and meetings.

All faculty are expected to be excellent teachers, responsive to changing professional needs; committed to innovative delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning; committed to effective use of technology including distance learning; involved in scholarly activities as appropriate to appointment; and provide service to the College.

Salary: The normal hiring range is high-forties to mid-fifties, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University offers an excellent fringe-benefits package.

Qualifications:
Required:
Masters Degree in Nursing

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Excellent communication skills with an ability to present ideas clearly

At least two years of clinical experience

Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Maine as a R egistered Nurse

Preferred:
Experience teaching in a Nursing Education Program

Experience in Nursing Practice in a variety of practice settings

Experience in Medical/Surgical Nursing

Experience in Obstetrics and/or Pediatrics
