A Certified Home Care Aide is a non-licensed member of the private duty home care team who assists the client with tasks of daily living in the home as outlined in a written care plan that is established! by a registered nurse and is kept in the clientÂ's home. Certified Home Care Aides are supervised by the Registered Nurse.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB

• High school business diploma; at least 18 years old
• Currently Certified as a Nursing Assistant in the State of Maine.
• Meets the basic requirements as a Certificated Home Care Aide

through a written competency test achieving at least 85% rating.

• Demonstrates knowledge of basic CAN skills as it relates to basic

patient care.

• Current CPR certification in basic life support.
• Minimum of 1 year CNA experience.
• Must exhibit mature, responsible behavior and understand the need for

patient confidentiality.

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
